The bootcamp will train students in practical aspects of data analysis challenges encountered in typical graduate level courses and will allow students and instructors to focus on the core content of their courses. Every bootcamp lesson will be developed around a particular topic of broad interest (e.g., reading and writing of common file formats, accessing public databases, clustering of gene expression data, etc.) and will be cutting across the three themes of the bootcamp: computer science concepts, core biomedical informatics methods, systems and tools. The bootcamp will also introduce best practices for reproducible and collaborative work in data-driven environments. As part of the bootcamp the students will also become familiar with the computing environment at HMS and additional computational resources that will be able to access during their time at HMS.
