Ningxuan (Shirley) Zhou

Master of Biomedical Informatics, Class of 2024

Shirley completed her bachelor’s degree of both Cell Biology and Data Science from UC Berkeley and worked as a bioinformatician in DFCI. Fascinated with mutational signatures in cancer, she started a bench researcher and gradually shifted to a bioinformatician as she enjoyed applying computational skills and algorithms toward the analysis of vast amount of cancer sequencing data. In the future, Shirley sees herself applying deep learning models to answer more questions in biomedical studies.

Her research interests include cancer biology, integration of multi-modal high throughput sequencing data and machine learning.
