Luca Freschi received his PhD in 2015 from Laval University (Quebec City, Canada), where he studied the evolution of post-translational modification networks under the supervision of Dr. Christian Landry. After his PhD, Freschi continued his training at Laval University with a two-year post-doc (under the supervision of Dr. Roger Levesque) where he studied the pan-genome and the evolution of the genome architecture of the human opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Freschi joined the Farhat lab in 2017. He is currently studying the molecular basis of the emergence of drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis.
