Scott Kallgren received his PhD from the Department of Biological Sciences at Columbia University, where his work focused on splicing and heterochromatin in fission yeast. He is currently building on this foundation to work on yeast chromatin as it relates to transcription elongation in a joint project with the Winston Lab at the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School.
