Yulia Tyshchuk has received her Ph.D. in Decision Sciences and Engineering Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Her dissertation focused on understanding, modeling, and being able to predict human behavior as expressed on electronic media. Following her Ph.D. Tyshchuk had worked at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the United States Military Academy (USMA). During her time at USMA she focused her research on team composition and performance in military education as well as Army cyber operations. She co-taught a “Network science in cyber operations” course focusing on statistics and machine learning. At DBMI Tyshchuk is working with Dr. Griffin Weber on applying machine learning and network science methods to map out the continuum of translational science as well as to model the workforce.
