Haishuai Wang received his PhD in Computer Science from the Center of Artificial Intelligence at University of Technology Sydney, where his work focused on data mining, machine learning and deep learning. Wang was a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Computer Science at Washington University in St. Louis. He has a long-term research interest to large-scale graph data and time series data with optimization algorithms and models. He has been applying his research to real-world applications, including social network analysis and biomedical informatics. Since coming to DBMI, Wang has focused on developing efficient machine learning algorithms to discover subtypes of autism based on genomic data, with the aim of identifying genomic mutations for autism spectrum disorder.
