Alex Pickering is a Senior Scientific Programmer working with Isaac Kohane. His work is focused on the development of software and web applications to predict candidate therapeutics using gene expression data.
Before joining Harvard, Alex was developing open source software and web applications for querying public transcriptomic repositories and for predicting gene expression signatures of large chemical databases. Prior his life as a software developer, Alex did graduate research at the Barshop Institute for Aging and Longevity Studies in Texas and originally hails from British Columbia, Canada, where he took his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry.
