Geoffrey Nelson, PhD

Former Research Fellow in Biomedical Informatics, Harvard Medical School
Biomedical Informatics Research Training Fellow, 2019-2020
Mentor: Peter Park, PhD

Geoffrey Nelson received his PhD training at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) in Cambridge, UK under the supervision of Mario de Bono. While at the LMB, he assembled a whole-genome sequencing analysis workflow to highlight causal variants within large mutant cohorts arising from forward genetic screens. He is currently investigating repetitive elements, which comprise over half of the human genome, and their relevance to different cancer types.
