Research Fellow in Biomedical Informatics, Harvard Medical School
Master of Medical Science in Biomedical Informatics, Class of 2017
Biomedical Informatics Research Training Fellow, 2015-2017

Jia Wang completed her graduate studies at the Institute of Neuroscience at the Chinese Academy of Science at Shanghai, where her work focused on the identification of the probable molecular targets for treatment of neurological disorders, including study of the mechanisms underlying synapse formation, a basic step in neural circuit development. She experienced a growing awareness that powerful quantitative tools were more and more critical to her ability to make sense of the increasing volume of raw data. This, coupled with her fascination with the explosive development of next-generation sequencing techniques, led her to join the Park Lab, where she currently is focusing on single neuron behavior and somatic mutations in neurological disorders by using single-cell sequencing techniques. She hopes to come full-circle to help with improved diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological disorders.
