Jiaqi Xie

Jiaqi Xie, MBI

Master of Biomedical Informatics, Class of 2019

Jiaqi Xie says, "In my time working at two labs I have gained a repertoire of skills which I hope to expand while exploring computational and quantitative methods as data for biological and medical research become larger and more complex." At the Weiss Lab at MIT, Xie independently investigated disease characteristics and designed diagnosis modules based on the results. Using molecular methods, he assembled the construct and tested them in transfected mammalian cells. Following that, he was able to expand his experience under George Church, during which time he prepared CRISPR and NGS samples. He was also introduced to processing of large biological data with UNIX shell scripting.
