Lilen Uchima came to DBMI from the MIT Office of Minority Education, where she was an Assistant Dean for Academic Excellence and Professional Development Programs. Lilen started working in the MIT Office of Minority Education after receiving her PhD in biology from MIT. She led several professional development and academic programs supporting underrepresented undergraduates, interfacing with students, faculty, staff, and industry partners to help provide students the tools they need to excel in their academic and professional careers. At DBMI, Lilen helps administer the Master of Medical Sciences in Biomedical Informatics (MMSc-BMI) and PhD in Biomedical Informatics programs and serves as co-chair of the DBMI Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
