Luwei Liu, MBI
Master of Biomedical Informatics, Class of 2021
While a research assistant in cancer research labs, Luwei Liu realized the importance of implementing data science in the medical field. Luwei believes that the field of biomedical informatics will help us understand the mechanisms of massive diseases, and provide opportunities to improve clinical decision making. In addition to her undergraduate studies at Stony Brook, she also learned from great mentors at UCSF and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Through the master’s program, Luwei hopes to learn the informatics tools necessary to conduct research in this exciting field. Luwei is interested in researching clinical decision making and cancer genomics.
