PJ Van Camp, MD, PhD
PJ Van Camp completed a medical degree in 2014 at the University of Leuven, Belgium, and after two years of pediatrics residency joined a Biomedical Informatics PhD program at the University of Cincinnati (Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center) in Ohio. His main research focus was on evaluation of antimicrobial resistance in the human microbiome using metagenomics. PJ also worked on various project in clinical informatics and was involved in teaching assistance and program community building.
PJ is passionate about teaching and science communication, and aims to teach and mentor the next generation of students to become successful scientists. He also strives to use his skills in biomedical informatics to bridge the gap between cutting edge computer science and 21st century medicine to improve patient health on both a personal and population health level.
