Master of Biomedical Informatics, Class of 2020

Pradeep Mangalath became interested in cancer research after his wife's breast cancer diagnosis. "Because of my engineering background and analytical work experience in Management Consulting, I was drawn to the biomedical informatics toolbox. I hope to spend my time in the Master's program pursuing the following broad areas: novel biomarkers and drug targets to contain breast cancer progression; efficacy of combination therapies and role of patient’s clinical and genomic profiles (personalized medicine); and pharmaceutical and healthcare economics to manage cost and time of drug discovery. My goal is to understand the full array of analytic tools available to researchers and to get involved with pharma and biotech firms working on promising breast cancer pipelines."
