Pradeep Nataranjan, MD, MMSc
Pradeep Nataranjan is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Human Genetic Research at Massachusetts General Hospital. He studies mechanisms that alter risk in the development of atherosclerotic-related traits and variation in blood lipids through human genetics. These approaches involve the analyses of genotyping platform arrays and next-generation sequencing in families and large-scale efforts and are complemented by genotype-based deep phenotyping approaches. In addition to being a clinical cardiologist, Nataranjan hopes to run a translational laboratory leveraging human genomics, the electronic health record, and human physiology experiments to discover novel pathways contributing to the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. "With a background in molecular biology and an interest in interpreting large biological datasets to human disease, I was drawn to this multi-dimensional biomedical informatics training program that offers comprehensive informatics training and flexibility to complement my education as needed to provide a sound foundation for my research projects and career goals."
