Sofía studied Biomedical Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where her research focused on Neural Engineering and addressing bias in neuroimaging. She is committed to applying a human-centric approach to biomedical data analysis and personalized medicine. Sofía is particularly interested in the applicability of artificial intelligence and genomics to the development of targeted therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, and improving health outcomes for underrepresented communities.

Her research interests include personalized medicine, artificial intelligence, genomics, image and signal processing.
