Yujie (April) Yan, MBI
Master of Biomedical Informatics, Class of 2023
Yujie (April) received her B.S. in Physics with minors in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics from Penn State University. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research in a biophysics lab, where she developed machine-learning software to improve automatic focusing of optical microscopes using images of yeast cells. She also had experiences in exploring data-driven approaches for guiding clinical decisions and cancer prediction. Yujie hopes to explore neural networks and natural language processing in the fields of electronic health records, wearable data, and medical images.
