Zihan Wang
Master of Biomedical Informatics, Class of 2024
Zihan grew up in Qingdao, China and completed his BSc. in Data Science at Simon Fraser University, Canada. During his undergrad, he targeted interpretable machine learning in healthcare and completed an honours thesis with Dr. Martin Ester. Further, Zihan spent two wonderful years working as an RA in Dr. Daley's lab at UBC HLI Centre, contributing to the development of a large DNA sequencing pipeline. He aspires to pursue a career that links data science with biomedicine to improve human health.
His research interests include interpretable machine learning for health and DNA sequencing and population genomics.
