Aurel Cami

Biomedical Informatics Research Training Fellow, 2008-2009

Aurel Cami is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Boston Children's Hospital. He has been a BIRT fellow since April 2009. Before coming to Boston, Cami was a post-doc at the RODS laboratory, University of Pittsburgh, where he conducted research for two biosurveillance projects. "In my doctoral research at the University of Central Florida, I investigated the models and algorithms for complex networks, such as the World Wide Web, social networks and various biological networks. My main career goal is to become an independent researcher in the area of biomedical informatics." As a short-term research objective, Cami hopes to leverage his experience in the areas of network analysis and biosurveillance to devise new methods and software applications for achieving earlier and more precise detection of drug adverse effects.
