Guido Davidzon is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital. "I realized that as physicians we constantly make decisions based on our previous experience or established guidelines. However, too often our experience is limited and guidelines are outdated or don't fit our patients. Moreover, the time constraints of an office visit challenge the decision making process even further. Interestingly enough, the cumulative experience of thousands of physicians and patients that could vastly facilitate and perfect our practice is buried in our databases. For this reason, I decided to focus my medical informatics training in the shift of patient care from the realm of intuitive medicine towards the practice of empirical and precision medicine."
