Ying Zhang is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Clinical Decision Making Group. "I am interested in applying to the BIRT program as a constellation of innovative laboratories with stimulating faculty and spirited fellows. It provides young researchers interested in biomedical informatics with ample opportunities to explore and mature as scientists and clinicians. I entered the program upon the introduction of my long-time mentor, but very quickly I was surrounded by new faces that were not only friendly but also took interest in seeing me plow forward in the field." During her training, Zhang hopes to better understand blood glucose management for critically-ill patients and to devise resources for effective glycemic control in the intensive care unit.
