Amelia Tan received her computational biology PhD from the National University of Singapore under the supervision of Dr. Enrico Petretto and Dr. Tai E Shyong. Tan's doctoral research focused on the use of systems biology approaches on multi-omics clinical datasets to gain holistic answers for research questions in complex diseases like type 2 diabetes. In DBMI, her research will expand to include network modelling of genetic, transcriptomic, phenotypic, drug and disease information in combination with machine learning and deep learning methods to build computational resources with applications in mechanistic understanding of diseases, automated diagnosis and drug repurposing.
